Manchester Orchestra Spring Shows Mean Everything

01:01 PM, Tuesday 3/9/10 Add |   |

Dust off your ball gowns and tuxes because the orchestra is coming to town. Actually, fans will probably want to throw on some skinny jeans and a band T-shirt instead because we’re talking about Manchester Orchestra. This spring the indie rock band is headlining shows across North America followed by a co-headlining tour with Thrice.

Tonight the band kicks off a two-night stand at Troubadour in West Hollywood, Calif., with headlining shows booked through April 9’s gig at Jillian’s in Columbia, S.C.

Manchester Orchestra is also making stops at Showbox At The Market in Seattle (March 13), In The Venue in Salt Lake City (March 16), Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, N.Y. (March 26), The Mod Club Theatre in Toronto (March 27) and Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia (April 3).

The guys and Thrice then hit the road together, starting things off with two nights at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta April 14-15. The co-headlining tour wraps up May 9 at Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque, N.M.

Additional dates include The Pageant in St. Louis (April 23), The Railyard in Billings, Mont. (April 29) and House Of Blues in Las Vegas (May 7).

Fans can also catch Manchester Orchestra at this year’s edition of Bonnaroo Music Festival, which takes place June 10-13 in Manchester, Tenn. This Thursday the guys will show up on the small screen as musical guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live. On Friday the Sundance Channel is set to air their recently taped performance for the U.K.’s “Live At Abbey Road.”

Last week the band released iTunes Live from SoHo, a digital download recorded Dec. 1 at New York City’s Apple SoHo Store. The live performance features six tunes from the band’s latest studio album, 2009’s Mean Everything to Nothing as well as two tracks from 2006’s I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child.
