Melvins Murder Screamin’ Spring & Summer Dates

05:01 PM, Wednesday 3/10/10 1 |   |

The Melvins have made things easy for fans as they only have to remember one upcoming date – June 1 marks the release of the grunge band’s upcoming studio album as well as the kick off of a round of North American tour dates. You’ll probably also want to note the day the band is coming to your town, but that’s what Pollstar is for.

The band’s first show of 2010 takes place June 1 at The Casbah in San Diego with dates booked through a July 9 gig at The Blank Club in San Jose, Calif.

The Melvins are also making stops at Emo’s in Austin, Texas (June 5), One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans (June 9), 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (June 16), Double Door in Chicago (June 25) and Rickshaw in Vancouver, British Columbia (July 5).

Totimoshi is opening for the majority of the dates with label mates Isis joining in on the fun on eight shows June 12-21.

The Bride Screamed Murder will hit stores June 1 as the follow-up to the Melvins’ 2008 album Nude With Boots. The new album, out on Ipecac Recordings, is the third to feature Buzz Osbourne, Dale Crover and Big Business’ Coady Willis and Jared Warren.

Great new album and I was lucky enough to check them out for this tour at Bonnaroo and a few days later at the 9:30 Club (would've been better at the Black Cat, but oh well). Best stuff from this lineup. NPR has the Bonnaroo set in their archives. Go there!
