Eagles! Chicks!! Urban!!!

10:01 AM, Tuesday 3/16/10 3 |   |

One of the biggest tour packages of the summer, if not the year, has been revealed as the Eagles team with Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban for a stadium run beginning in June.

For the Eagles, the tour represents one of those rare occasions where the band isn’t the sole act on the bill. Most Eagles concerts have been presented as “an evening with…” making this triple bill of rock and country one of the more interesting packages touring this year.

However, Urban is not appearing on a few select shows. We’ll give you the rundown and then dive into the particulars.

The tour begins in Toronto at Rogers Centre June 8, travels to E. Rutherford, N.J., for a show at the New Meadowlands Stadium June 10. Foxboro, Mass., is the third date with the tour landing at Gillette Stadium June 12.

Then it’s on to Philadelphia and Citizens Bank Ball Park June 14; Washington, D.C., at Nationals Park June 15; Chicago at Soldier Field June 19; Winnipeg at Canada Inns Stadium June 22 and St. Louis at Busch Stadium June 24.

Urban will not appear on the tour opener in Toronto nor the last two stops in Winnipeg and St. Louis.

The tour marks the first time the Dixie Chicks – Martie Maguire, Emily Robison and Natalie Maines – have toured in four years. And in case you were wondering, none of the acts has ever toured together.

I was wondering about that also. Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles would be great together. Same era etc.  I would LOVE to see Keith Urban with Eagles, but forget those Dixie Chicks. I would not see them in concert for FREE. ugh!

Going to see the Eagles in April at the Hollywood Bowl - will be at least the 5th time I've seen them.

So are the Eagles gonna be playing their more country oriented stuff at this show?  If it is this probably the biggest disappointment of the summer.  I have no interest in seeing the Dixie Chicks.  Same deal with Keith Urban.  I'd see the Eagles but I'd rather if they were with Fleetwood Mac which was rumored before.  I'll be passing on this 2/3 country show and waiting to see the Eagles either by themselves or with someone that isn't country.
