For years Milwaukee has been known for its annual Summerfest, one of the granddaddies when it comes to multi-day music festivals. This year, the city on Lake Michigan launches a new festival spotlighting alternative and modern rock. Details on the very first Verge Music Festival – scheduled for June 4-5 at the Summerfest grounds – after the jump.
Before we even dive into the lineup, we need to mention how the company that also produces Summerfest – Milwaukee World Festival Inc. – ended up naming its new festival “Verge.”
They held a contest and “Verge” was the winning entry. The company credits greater Milwaukee area resident Katie Kostuck as the “creator” of the winning name that was one of more than 200 entries.
Three Days Grace headlines the festival’s first day, which will also include performances by Eagles Of Death Metal, Crash Kings, She & Him, Nico Vega, Reni Lane, 1956, Red Knife Lottery, The Championship and The Wildbirds.
