How Many Guitars Does Bieber Need?

11:01 AM, Monday 6/21/10 4 |   |

Apparently Justin Bieber and his backing band expect to use up to 20 guitars during a single performance. That’s just one of the many fun facts to know and tell about the teenster’s upcoming concert tour.

Bieber’s press reps just released one of those reports listing various bits of trivia about his “My World” tour launching June 23 in Hartford, Conn. Like the amount of individual confetti pieces used for each show (1 million), the number of custom guitar picks expected to be used during the tour (2,000-3,000) and how many guitar strings will be used each week (120).

The tour will also consume plenty of salt, caffeine and sugar, going through 10,000 fries and 75 Starbucks drinks on a single day while pre-show munchie killers include Sour Patch Kids and Gummy Worms.

On the other hand, the dancers are expected to burn off more than 6,000 calories per show, so there is some yang to all that high-caloric yin.

As to moving the show from town-to-town, each concert will have about 32 tons of equipment on the set. Carrying that heavy load will be 9 trucks while 11 buses transport tour personnel.

And in case you were wondering, the “metal heart prop” weighs more than 400 pounds.

Here’s the complete list, courtesy public relations firm, PMK BNC.

11 buses are used for all personnel.
32 tons/64,000 pounds of equipment are on the set.
Over 500 cases are used for equipment.
