Las Vegas casinos have pulled in some huge stars over the years for residencies but one artist who would seemingly be a perfect fit for the City of Sin has yet to make a deal.
If British tabloids are to be trusted, an unnamed casino is attempting to woo Madonna for a five-year, $1 billion agreement.
But the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s resident gossip columnist Norm Clarke wasn’t so certain, checking in with a local entertainment agent to size up the situation.
“I guarantee that number is double inflated” if there even was an offer, the source told Clarke.
The explanation went something like this. If Madonna made a deal with say, the 4,298-capacity Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, she could eke out $750 million over five years if she averaged $200 per ticket and performed four or five nights per week, 50 weeks out of the year.
“That’s impossible. She’s not going to work 50 weeks,” the agent added.
A $200 ticket average for Madge is also questionable as comparable tickets for Celine Dion’s run at Caesar’s reportedly averaged $135 and tickets for Garth Brooks’ current show at Wynn Las Vegas are $125.
