Blige Taps Sullivan, Miguel For Tour

03:01 PM, Wednesday 9/1/10 Add |   |

Mary J. Blige launches a new tour next month, taking Jazmine Sullivan and Miguel for a run through North America beginning Oct. 2 in Georgia.

But you don’t have to wait until October for a live dose of Blige. The soul singer plays Fantasy Springs Resort Casino & Special Events Center in Indio, Calif., this Sunday and then heads north up the coast to Seattle for a Bumbershoot Festival gig Sept. 6. She’ll also appear at Mobile Bayfest in Mobile Ala., on the evening before her tour officially begins in Atlanta.

Blige talked about her tour while appearing on BET’s “106 & Park,” where she brought Sullivan and Miguel along as a surprise for the studio audience.

Here’s what’s nailed down so far:

Oct. 2 at Atlanta’s Chastain Park Amphitheatre; Oct. 3 at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater, Oct. 8 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Va.; Oct. 10 in Mashantucket, Conn., at MGM Grand At Foxwoods and Oct. 12 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

Blige mentioned a second date for New York – Oct. 11 – but at this time Radio City is only acknowledging the Oct. 12 show.

Blige also has three U.K. dates on her schedule – Nov. 2 at The O2 London; Nov. 3 at Birmingham’s LG Arena and Nov. 5 at Manchester Evening News Arena. Lemar appears as special guest on all U.K. dates.

But wait, there’s more.

Australia and New Zealand host the singer in early 2011 as Blige plays Perth’s nib Stadium Jan. 25; the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne Jan. 28; Brisbane’s Riverstage Jan. 29; the Cassagrain Winery at Port Macquarie Jan. 30; the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Darling Harbour Feb. 3 and the International Stadium in Rotorua, New Zealand, Feb. 5.
