Celebrating 25 years of Farm Aid concerts, the annual event founded by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp takes place Oct. 2 at Milwaukee’s River Park.

As with past Farm Aids events, the lineup continues to grow as we get closer to show time. Along with performances by Farm Aid board members Young, Nelson, Mellencamp and Dave Matthews, this year’s lineup also includes Norah Jones, Jason Mraz, Jeff Tweedy, Band Of Horses, BoDeans, Amos Lee and Robert Francis.

“I’m honored to be asked to play Farm Aid’s 25th anniversary,” Chesney said. “My friendship and respect for Willie, John, Neil and Dave made it an easy answer. The importance of the Farm Aid message and emphasis on the need for the family farmer has never been more evident. Food recalls and concerns about the safety of our food underscore the importance of knowing where your food comes from and who has handled it.”

Jay Smith--That would be Miller Park, not River Park.
