The 'talent' on American Idol is mostly no better than semi-decent karaoke but why be so offended?.....it's just sports for women. At least they arent watching E! , Oprah or The View during those couple hours.

Garbage tv at its finest. Eat up that cupcake, America. It never ceases to amaze the tripe that a mass audience will soak up. Not even KISS could save that gawd awful program.

Sorry FaithNoMore89, but these days you CAN become a star overnight. Ever heard of the internet? It's the thing you're on. At least these guys worked for it a bit more than the Chocolate Rain guy.

And no, Sarah, the right man DID NOT win. Leading up to the show, I entertained the notion that it'd be cool if Kris won because it would defy expectations as everyone was SO SURE Adam would take it. When it actually happened, however, I realized that Kris is a boring kid. Adam was original, cool and exciting... and if you can't become an Idol by being those things then I don't know what to tell ya. I feel your pain SMP.

I seriously meant it when I said Adam REALLY won. That song is so insipid and poorly written it has the potential to trash a true talents career. What if Daughtry had been forced to sing a similar song? He might have been forever linked to it and instead of being rock star he might be performing in Taylor Hicks land (speaking of insipid). Adam has the potential to go places with his talent and he wont be tied to such tripe. But it wont hurt Kris nearly as much, because lets face it, his potential audience is old church ladies and teen girls, not people known for high musical expectations or taste.

Idol is for idiots...its trash TV. You cant become a rockstar overnight. it takes years of commitment. Not to mention, dont the last 10 finalist beocme stars who all get contracts so the show is asinine. A real American Idol is Roy Orbison.

I loved them both and believe (possibly for the first time in Idol history) that the exact right two contestants faced off in the finale. In the end, I think the public correctly rewarded Kris Allen's skilled musicianship, inspired vocals and natural stage presence over Adam Lambert's vocal gymnastics and flamboyant showmanship. I am much more likely to buy a CD or attend a concert by Kris Allen than Adam Lambert. I won't be buying the hideous "No Boundries" single though and I absolutley agree with everyone who has said the practice of launching each new Idol winner's career with such insipid material should be scrapped.
