Okay, before you accuse us of making a racially insensitive joke, you should know that Gojira is the westernized spelling of the Japanese characters for the name Godzilla. But we digress.
The Gojira we're concerned with is actually a kick-ass thrash-metal quartet that hails from France and is headed for the shores of the U.S. and Canada this week in support of In Flames.
The party kicks off November 6 at Metropolis in Montreal and rolls on through early December.
Highlights include stops at Emerald Theatre in Mount Clems, Mich. (November 8), Myth in St. Paul, Minn. (November 12), Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver (November 17), Warfield Theatre in San Francisco (November 21), Midnight Rodeo in Albuquerque, N.M. (November 25), La Zona Rosa in Austin (November 29), The Tabernacle in Atlanta (December 3), The Palladium in Worchester, Mass. (December 6), and The Rave Eagles Club in Milwaukee (December 10).
Other rockers on the bill for the slammin' trek include All That Remains and 36 Crazyfists.
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.
The Way of All Flesh, Gojira's latest release, was released earlier this month and features first single, "Vacuity," which is streaming at the band's MySpace page.
