The Closing Bell

05:01 PM Monday 10/20/08 |   |

Go ahead and stick a fork in us, cuz we're done for the day. But before we hit the highway we want to leave you with new dates for Reel Big Fish, 36 Crazyfists and David Benoit, plus links to items about the blogger who illicitly posted GNR tracks, Third Eye Blind singer dissing the album format, jury selection begins for second Phil Spector trial, Eminem's memoir, Madness frontman talks Madness and a custom Beatles iPod for only $795.

Overnight Sensation …

Our writers are so excited. Why? That's because they're big Dungeons and Dragons fans and it's not often they get to use the words "palace" and "castle" on the same day. Heck, imagine how excited they'll be when we tell them the company Christmas dinner for this year will be at White Castle.

Liza Settles Into The Palace - Liza Minnelli will bring her one-of-a-kind talent to the Great White Way in December when she moves into the Palace Theatre for a two-week residency.

Have Fun Stormin' The Microcastle - Atlanta's Deerhunter has packed the bus and is ready to head out at the end of the month in support of upcoming release Microcastle.

Dates, Dates & More Dates …

Reel Big Fish makes today's final update deadline with 2009 dates for the United States, United Kingdom and Europe ranging from early January and running through mid-March. U.S. details include January 1 in San Diego at House Of Blues, January 6 in Vegas at House Of Blues, January 12 in Chicago at House Of Blues and January 25 in Washington, DC, at House Of 9:30 Club. Dates across the ocean include February 14 in Liverpool at Carling Academy Liverpool, February 18 in Edinburgh at Picture House, February 27 & 28 in London at Mean Fiddler, March 6 in Oslo at John Dee and March 11 in Moscow at Tochka Club.

36 Crazyfists also have a long string of U.K. / Europe dates for the last update of the day. United Kingdom stops include Colchester on March 7 at Colchester Arts Centre, March 8 in Norwich at Waterfront and March 13 in London at Astoria 2. Dates on the continent include Berlin on March 18 at Kato, March 26 in Copenhagen at Pumpehuset Club and March 30 in Stockholm at Debaser Medis.

And we have three Seattle dates for the last week of the year for David Benoit - December 26, 27 & 28 at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley.

During the day we also updated the new schedules for Bryan Adams, Neil Diamond, Alkaline Trio, We Are Scientists, Metallica, Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orch., Y & T, The Hot Club Of Cowtown, Disturbed, Chuck Berry, Punk Rock Karaoke, Russell Brand, Tom Rush and many more bands and artists too numerous to mention and too difficult to spell correctly.

And that completes our journey through the dark and twisted world of concert data. Thank you for accompanying us on today's sojourn and we hope you can join us again tomorrow for more date-city-venue thrills, chills and frills. G'night.
