Well, it's about that time. Our parents are waiting for us in the parking lot and the janitors are waiting for us to leave so they can put the chairs on top of the desks. Tonight we leave you with new dates for Lewis Black, Little Dragon and Have Heart, plus links to items about tougher copyright laws, Bon Jovi's plagiarism lawsuit, a cool-looking new MP3 player, Laurie Anderson's quick Q&A, the first rock 'n' roll rebels (with tails, that is) and the eternal patience that is the Nickelback fan.
Overnight Sensation …
Our writers were probably the only ones in the country who made money while the stock market plunged last week. Of course, they lost it all today when the market shot up over 900 points. Which is why they prepared the following two items scheduled to post within the next 16 hours (they need the money).
Coming To America - And Staying - U.K. indie act Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs is headed across the Atlantic for more than just a two-month trek in support of latest release, Dirt Don't Tread.
Hail The Conqueror Soulfly - Max Cavalera's heavy metal tribe Soulfly will hit the road next month for a headline jaunt in support of album number six, Conqueror.
President Bush signs bill into law strengthening copyright piracy laws at the federal level. The new law also creates a "intellectual property czar." Needless to say, the first one will not be Shawn Fanning - Reuters
Claiming plagiarism, a songwriter sues Bon Jovi for about half the amount of money Congress authorized for bailing out the economy - The Sun U.K.
Want a personal player that looks way cooler than the average iPod? The iRiver Spin just might be your heart's desire - PC World
It turns out Nickelback has some very patient fans who are willing to sit through long waits, instructions on how to cheer and (worse of all) no beer so that they can be close to their faves while the band shoots a commercial - Los Angeles Times / Soundboard (registration may be required)
Were Alvin & The Chipmunks the world's first rock 'n' roll rebels? - Animation World Network
For you folks on the go here's a real short Q&A with Laurie Anderson - Seattle Post Intelligencer

Which brings us to the hardest part of our job - saying goodnight. Well, actually that's the second hardest part. Right after convincing our corporate masters that Christmas really is a legal holiday. Anyway, it's time to hit the road. Thank you for your support and we hope you can join us tomorrow for more date-city-state action. G'night.
