Cake Or Death

04:11 AM Tuesday 10/7/08 |   |

Despite what the name implies, jazz-influenced combo The Sea and Cake haven't, uh, been sailing the seven seas or eating frosting-laden pastries - at least not enough to inhibit the release of their album, Car Alarm.

In fact, the quartet has been focused on cutting the fat, and went directly from touring in support of their previous release, Everybody, to recording the 12-tracks for Car Alarm. Look for their eighth album to be dropped on October 21.

Starting in November, the band will be ringing in the new disc with a run of tour dates including The Black Cat in Washington D.C. (Nov.8), The Empty Bottle in Chicago (Nov. 15), and The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco (Dec. 2).

Oklahoma City's The Uglysuit will be supporting from Nov. 28 - Dec. 6.
