Midday Update

12:13 PM Friday 9/26/08 | |

Lunchtime on the Fresno Coast and we have new listings for Chris Thile, Plain White T's, The Pink Spiders and Tony Joe White, and links to items about this weekend's Austin City Limits Music Festival, Dylan streaming for free, Wisin & Yandel's custom watches, the video game maker who says labels should pay his company for song placements and Kid Rock brewing up a new merch angle.

Link-O-Rama …

Hey, kids! What time is it? It's time for the Austin City Limits Fest! - Houston Chronicle

A few weeks ago Warner Music Group head honcho Edgar Bronfman said video game manufacturers should be paying more for music to use in games like "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band." Now the CEO of Activision, which makes "Guitar Hero," wonders if the labels should be paying game makers for exposing songs to a wider audience - Arts Technica

Coming to a kegger near you - Kid Rock Beer (but they're missing a big marketing opp if they don't come up with a bock brew) - KBS Radio

The times they are a-changin' as Bob Dylan streams new album - Tell Tale Signs - for an entire week on NPR.org - NPR.org

Latin stars Wisin & Yandel partner with Ice Tek to promote custom logo watches - National Jeweler Network

Kraftwerk's Ralf Hutter sits still long enough to do a Q&A - New Zealand Herald
