Let's Hear It For The Boy

04:11 AM Monday 7/21/08 |   |

Eighties pop icon Boy George isn't letting a little thing like being denied a visa by the U.S. State Department keep him down. The Boy is dealing with the blow by doing what he does best - singing.

The singer will dust off the pipes for a continent hopping tour with a headlining gig August 31 at Retrofest in Strathclyde, Scotland.

Other artists scheduled to appear at the two-day '80s extravaganza include The Bangles, Paul Young, Howard Jones, Kim Wilde, Midge Ure, Nik Kershaw, Kajagoogoo with Limahl, The Blow Monkeys, Modern Romance and China Crisis.

Ticket info is available at Retrofest.co.uk.

The Boy's trek gets rolling in earnest September 8 at Via Funchal in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with additional shows in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santiago, Chile; Lima, Peru; Bogota, Columbia; and Caracas, Venezeula.

The U.K. leg of the tour begins October 1 in Dorking, U.K., and runs through early November, with stops in cities like Chesterfield, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Liverpool, Croyden, Basingstoke, London, Reading, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Cheltenham and Brighton.

Tickets for U.K. shows are available through links at BoyGeorgeLive.com.
