The Morning Benders On A Touring Tear

03:03 AM Thursday 7/3/08 |   |

Bay-area pop quartet The Morning Benders have been hitting the road hard this year, starting with their first nationwide tour in support of The Kooks, and the band doesn't appear to show any signs of slowing down.

The Benders kicked off a week-long run with We Are Scientists earlier this week and will follow that with a July 12 opening gig for Supergrass at Avalon in Los Angles, a trio of festival appearances and a fall run with Ra Ra Riot.

Upcoming shows with We Are Scientists include tonight at Glass House in Pomona, Calif., July 5 at Blue Lamp in Sacramento, Calif., and July 9 at Neumo's in Seattle.

Festival appearances on the schedule include GOOD Magazine Block Party in San Francisco (July 20), Monolith Festival at Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver (September 13) and the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco (September 21).

The band's run with Ra Ra Riot launches September 28 at Casbah in San Francisco and runs through October 18 at Middle East Downstairs in Boston, with additional stops including Phoenix, Dallas, Orlando, Fla., Atlanta, Baltimore and Philadelphia.
