The Story So Far

10:01 AM Tuesday 5/20/08 | |

New dates for Tina Turner, Impaled, Smokey Robinson and Beth Orton make today a wunnerful, wunnerful Tuesday!

The Tina Turner schedule is like a living, breathing, carbon-based life form onto itself. As more people feed the box office by buying tickets, more shows end up on the schedule. Today we add October 16 (Los Angeles, CA), October 20 (San Jose, CA), November 27 (Newark, NJ), December 4 (Uniondale, NY), January 22 & 23 (Antwerp, Belgium), March 3 & 4 (London, U.K.), March 30 & 31 (Manchester, U.K.).

Impaled takes a stab at the club circuit during late summer / early fall. Dates include August 22 in Oakland, California, at The Metro; August 31 in New Orleans, LA, at Whirling Dervish Bar; September 8 in New York, New York, at Knitting Factory - Main Space; and September 20 in San Francisco, California, at Thee Parkside.

You'd have to look pretty hard to find a music legend bigger than Smokey Robinson. Today, the soul man adds a Lake Tahoe date for June 21 and a Montgomery, Alabama, show for June 26.

And we have a few Beth Orton summertime dates for you - July 2 in Boston at Museum Of Fine Arts Boston; July 3 in Amagansett, New York, at Stephen Talkhouse; July 5 in North Adams, Massachusetts, at Museum Of Contemproary Art; and July 9 in Montreal, Quebec, at Theatre National.

During the first 90 minutes of biz we also updated the schedules for Ferron, Boy George, Bootsy Collins, Adrian Belew, Acoustic Alchemy, Rachael Sage, Oneside, Lee Ritenour, Terry Fator, The Wombats, The English Beat and Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband.

But we're just warming up! Yes, the mighty Pollstar.com database is slowly coming to life, spreading joy and wisdom near and far. Don't miss your Midday Update, scheduled for around 12 noon (PDT), from Pollstar.com!
