The all-inclusive, interactive and free public events will occur April 20 in New York City's Central Park, Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo, Denver's City Park, Dallas' Fair Park, San Francisco's Golden Gate Park and Los Angeles' Santa Monica Pier, along with a flagship event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The events will combine environmental addresses by prominent speakers, the presence of a wide variety of environmental organizations and educational displays on the theme of environmental awareness.

In addition to the Earth Day events, more than 125 venues will become Green Apple venues over Earth Day weekend, as festival organizers introduce environmentally friendly practices and products at participating venues as a new way of doing business.
