The Story So Far

10:02 AM Wednesday 3/5/08 |   |

We have August dates for Bettye LaVette, June additions for Billy Joel, a new tour for Zakir Hussain and June gigs for Joe Diffie. That's the haps in your first update of the day!

Master of the tabla Zakir Hussain plays the U.S. and Canada in April and May. Among the new dates posted this morning is a two-fer in San Francisco on April 16 and 17. Other new listings include Chicago on April 19, Houston on April 20, New York on April 26, Miami on May 4 and a two-fer for Vancouver, BC, on May 6 and 7.

It's looking like another great year for Bettye LaVette as more and more audiences discover R&B's best kept secret of the past 20-plus years. New dates for Ms. LaVette include Salt Lake City (August 1) and Rockford, IL (August 30).

Joe Diffie updates this morning with new shows for May and June. New May gigs include Waco, TX (May 10) and Tulsa, OK (May 17), while the June calendar now shows dates in Danville, IL (June 6), Petoskey, MI (June 7) and Kure Beach, NC (June 21).

And we have a couple of new Billy Joel dates. Both new shows are additional performances at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT - June 15 & 26.

During the first 90 minutes of biz we also updated the schedules for Gibson Brothers, David Lindley, Cut Chemist, Bill Frisell, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Kristian Booth, Michael Combs, Sam Bush, Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles, Sonny Landreth, The Seldom Scene and We All Have Hooks For Hands.

But we're just getting started on this thing called Wednesday, and we have more dates yet to post. Stay on top of it all with your Midday Update, scheduled for around 12 noon (PST), from Pollstar.com!
