The Closing Bell

05:06 PM Monday 11/5/07 |   |

What a day! News items on Ozzy, file-swapping and Michael Jackson's debt problems, and new dates for Eric Clapton, Alicia Keys, Xavier Rudd and "Dancing With The Stars." And that's only a small portion, a smidgen, if you will, of your final update of the day from Pollstar.com!

The Night Shift …

Our overnight crew has worked hard all day so that you may have these fine features to read tonight:

Fields Of Dreams - Magnetic Fields head out to spend some quality time with fans.

Dancing With Stars In Their Eyes - ABC's popular "Dancing With The Stars" takes its act on the road for a third time.

Here & There …

Need a job? Looks as if Time Warner may have an opening - Associated Press

Michael Jackson fails to pay $25 million loan - The Daily Telegraph

Do file-swappers buy more CDs? - CBC News

For Nashville, the party starts 2 days before the CMAs - The Tennessean

Ozzy on Ozzy - The Herald Sun

Dates, Dates & More Dates ...

We started off the day with Madison Square Garden dates for Eric Clapton, 2008 dates for Bon Jovi and the first 2008 date to be announced for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.

But it wasn't long before we added dates for My Chemical Romance, Ani DiFranco, Mark Knopfler, John Mellencamp and John Hammond. Yes, the tour date gods were smiling on us today for sure.

And then it was new shows for Iron Maiden, Joe Ely, Dropkick Murphys, Donna The Buffalo, David Lindley, Connie Kaldor, Bill Maher, Andrew Bird, the "Winter Jam Tour" and "Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo / RodeoHouston."

Then before we knew it we added the info for "The Warren Haynes Christmas Jam," and posted new dates for Adrian Belew, Alicia Keys, Dale Watson, David Nelson And Friends, Dionne Warwick, Dropkick Murphys, Garnet Rogers, Keb' Mo', Liza Minnelli, Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys, Magnetic Fields, Peter Mulvey, Taj Mahal, Suzy Bogguss, The Blakes, The Shins, Tony Furtado, W.A.S.P. and Westlife.

And then we looked at the clock and noticed it's quittin' time. See you tomorrow!
