Rekindling The Arcade Fire

05:15 AM Sunday 4/22/07 |   |

Arcade Fire's Win Butler has undergone surgery to rid himself of the sinus and bronchial problems that saw the band cancel a string of European shows. He expects to be fully recovered in time to start back here at Hurricane Festival June 23.

After playing Germany at Scheeßel, June 23 and its twinned Southside Festival a day later, the act moves on to Norway - where the spring dates came to an abrupt halt due to Butler's condition.

The summer run is made up of some of Europe's most prestigious outdoors, including the U.K.'s Glastonbury Festival, Switzerland's Open Air St. Gallen, Denmark's Roskilde, Scotland's T In The Park, Ireland's Oxegen, Spain's Madrid Summercase and England's Reading-Leeds Carling Weekend.

Other acts on the June 22-24 Hurricane and Southside festivals include Beastie Boys, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes, Die Fantastischen Vier, Editors, Five O'Clock Heroes, Frank Black, Marilyn Manson, Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Pearl Jam, Placebo, and Queens Of The Stone Age.
