Rock On The Range

04:57 AM Sunday 3/18/07 |   |

Ohio will get its very own spring music festival this year with the first annual Rock on the Range, a single-day event featuring two stages and a heap of rock bands.

ZZ Top, Evanescence, Velvet Revolver, Hinder, Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, and Puddle of Mudd are confirmed to appear at the fest, which will take place May 19 at Ohio's Columbus Crew Stadium.

More acts are to be announced for the event, which is being presented by AEG Live and Right Arm Entertainment.

"No event like Rock on the Range currently exists in the area and it has the potential to fill a tremendous void for outdoor summer concert entertainment in the future," stadium general manager Mark McCullers said.

"We chose Columbus as the location for this national event because it's centrally located," organizer Del Williams added. "And right there, in the heart of America, is where you'll find the epicenter of pure, no-strings-attached rock 'n' roll."
