Bring The Whole Family

12:19 AM Tuesday 6/22/04 | |

Pack up some sandwiches and lawn chairs: Alt-metal shredders Static-X are heading out on the Family Picnic tour, with Arithmetic Of War, Lo-Pro, Soil, and Trustcompany supporting.

Static-X will also play a series of headline shows in between Family Picnic dates, beginning with a pre-tour club run that starts July 20 in Las Vegas. The band's new rarities collection - Beneath, Between, Beyond - comes out that same day.

The Family Picnic shows will take place at amphitheatres and run through August 27, when the package wraps in Auburn, Wash.

Static-X is currently finishing up its tour of Europe, where it was forced to cancel a June 5 appearance at the Download Festival. The band's bus broke down during the drive from the Rock Im Park fest and they were forced to spend 12 hours on the side of the road before getting a ride to "a local hotel in the middle of nowhere: Dernbach, Germany."

No one said this tour stuff was easy.
