Yo! Rocko, here. Pollstar.com's new customer service representative.
You know, ever since my buddy, Tony Pollstar, took over the family tour date operation, there's been some rumorizing going down in the press about how the big guy only moved out to Fresno from New Jersey in order to meet up with them concert babes, and that he could care less about additional dates for Henry Rollins or new routings for Tim McGraw and Erasure. Sure, Tony likes steppin' out with Tori Amos or Sheryl Crow on his arm, but he always puts the biz before any good-lookin' lady hankerin' to cut a rug a with a goodfella like himself. Like Tony sez, "Business is business and flesh is only skin deep."
Youse seez, Tony considers the concert data industry to have deep spiritual meaning. He believes that we're all put on this great big planet for a purpose, like bringing you the new dates for bands like Seether and Clutch each and every day, and he's not about to let a well-turned ankle distract him from providing you with the best concert info available. That's cuz deep down inside he knows that if it wasn't for the Pollstar.com concert-data empire, those ladies wouldn't give him the time of day. That's why he's always asking his dates; "What's a nice girl like you doing with a face like this?"
Take the other night, for example. Tony was getting ready for a big date with that sweet-soundin' chanteuse, Norah Jones, when he heard that a couple of his underlings in the tour processing department screwed up the listings for Eminem and SEV. Ooh, was he mad.
Now, any other guy would have told his wise guys...er... I mean, his lieutenants, to take care of it, but not Tony. Tony likes to get his hands dirty, if you know what I mean. Anyway, he put Norah on hold so that he could take the two workers out to the waterfront where he could cement the employer / employee relationship, so to speak. In short, even though he was ticked off royally, even though he missed his chance to step out with one of the hottest singers around, he took care of biz, and those two guys in data processing won't be messing up any more dates, like the listings for Paul Thorn or Tim Easton, anytime soon, no matter who catches their drift.
For it's just like Tony sez. "Always put rage before beauty."
