Creamfields Sketches Out Plans

01:09 AM Monday 3/4/02 |   |

Creamfields, the premier U.K. dance festival, is back for the fifth year this summer with Faithless and Underworld headlining. Some of the other acts for the August 24 event are Mis-Teeq, Lemon Jelly, Stanton Warriors, Bent, Sasha, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules, Sandra Collins and Layo & Bushawka.

Headliners Underworld make their first live performance in two years and will showcase new material from their new album coming out in the fall.

"This being our fifth Creamfields, I think we wanted to once again try and push the event forward, making it appeal to an even wider audience," said James Barton of Cream. "This year will see more live acts playing on an outdoor stage. This has worked so well for us at our Creamfields Ireland event, and with headliners such as Faithless and Underworld, we felt that these bands needed a bit more than a tent can provide."

For the first time, Creamfields will feature a live outdoor stage, which will be complemented by a second live music arena. Other attractions include the legendary five-a-side football tournament.

Tickets go on sale March 1 for £46 a pop.
