New York-based rockers The Hold Steady are, well, holding steady to the road with the addition of a spring U.S. headlining tour.
The trek, in support of the band’s latest release, Stay Positive, will include The War On Drugs handling support duties. The Hold Steady has become a critic’s darling, with Entertainment Weekly calling the new album “nearly perfect” and Rolling Stone giving it four stars.
Dates start March 31 at Valentine’s in Albany, N.Y., and continue in 13 cities before wrapping April 15 at Harlow’s Night Club in Sacramento, Calif.
Other stops on the schedule include The Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo, N.Y. (April 1), Jake’s Nightclub in Bloomington, Ind. (April 4), the Picador in Iowa City, Iowa (April 7), the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colo. (April 10) and Harrah’s Tahoe South Shore Room in Stateline, Nev. (April 14).
The Hold Steady is also scheduled to play a benefit concert for Cubs Charities at House of Blues Chicago Jan. 15 before heading to Australia Jan. 31 for six shows.
Tickets for the U.S. tour go on sale Dec. 19.
