Warped 2009 Revealed

It may be chilly outside but Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman has announced the lineup for the trek’s 15th anniversary, scheduled to kick off in late June.

The road trip launches June 26 in Pomona, Calif., and make stops in 46 cities across the U.S. and Canada before it wraps up Aug. 23 in Los Angeles.

Among the multitude of acts on the bill are Alexisonfire, Bad Religion, Chiodos, Flogging Molly, Less Than Jake, Meg & Dia, NOFX, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Silverstein, Streetlight Manifesto, The A.K.A.s, The Ataris, The Devil Wears Prada, Thrice and Underoath.

On the tour’s Web site, Lyman wrote that next year’s punk rock showcase will downsize from two main stages to one stage in addition to the side stages for a couple of reasons.

“Many of these bands have been around for a long time and have many songs to choose from, so this year instead of limiting them to five or six songs, they will have 40 minutes to play all your favorite songs from the past and a couple of new ones,” he explained.

“I know that times are tough so it was important to me to figure out how to keep the ticket price low this year – this way we can accomplish that and still put on an awesome show!" Lyman added.

Tickets and venue specifics will be announced at a later date.
