Orange Ink-Corporated

OK, so MusInk isn’t going on tour. It’s still on for three days in February in Costa Mesa, Calif., and featuring Reverend Horton Heat, Atreyu, Danzig and Story of the Year.

The three-day MusInk Tattoo Convention & Music Festival debuted last February, drawing 13,000 fans and 200 tattoo artists from around the world. It reemerges Feb. 20-22 at the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center, again with 200 ink specialists along with vendors and bands.

The whole shebang costs $25, and tickets go on sale Jan. 10 at 10 a.m.

Reverend Horton Heat, Nekromantix and L.A.’s cool cover band Manic Hispanic are set for Friday, Jan. 20. Atreyu and Story of the Year are set for Jan. 21, and Danzig and Throwdown are on for Sunday. More artists are expected to join in.

“The O.C. MusInk festival is going to be one of those ‘career’ sets for Rev. Horton Heat,” the minister himself, Jim Heath, said in a statement. “It’s going to be a must-see for our fans. I also plan on partying until I pass out on the lawn. As Ernest Tubb would say, ‘Thanks, thanks a lot.’”

Next year’s MusInk was set to go on tour with Social Distortion and Motorhead before the economy encroached on those plans.
