    There were many shows I saw last year in Toronto and some of them are close to be the best show. Some notable examples are:

    -Somewhere Back In Time Tour by Iron Maiden on March 16;

    -Glow in the Dark Tour starring Kanye West with Rihanna, N.E.R.D and Lupe Fiasco on May 21;

    -Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers with Steve Winwood on June 3;

    -Long Road Out of Eden Tour by The Eagles on July 22 (Best show of 2008);

    -Lights in the Sky by Nine Inch Nails on August 5 (my 2nd best show of 2008);

    -Black Ice World Tour by AC/DC on November 7.

    I agree with Chostar. Galzone really brought it home every time they played (I didn't dare miss a date on their run!) and I was honored to just be alive to be able to witness it. Ladies like that come once in a lifetime. Their swet moves and sophisticated harmonies let me know that ROCK IS HERE, and here it will stay. Thanks for everything, Galzone!

    Eddie Vedder solo acoustic, live at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on August 7, 2008.  If you don't believe me, search YT for Tim Robbins + Chris McCandless.

    Best of 2008 - I have two. 1. George Michael - the man still has the voice, the moves, and the soul. Great showman, Great back up band, Great lighting and video effects. Be sad if you missed it.  2. The Police and Elvis Costello - a great combination of bands and music. Elvis is timeless and sounds better than ever. The Police rocked the hits like it was LIve AId all over again. The summer of 2008 in America, was dominated by our friends from across the pond.

    I love music and attend so many live shows its hard for me to pick a "favorite" so I'll just name a few that I attended this year..

    Tom Petty with Steve Winwood...This was my first time seeing Steve and I was VERY IMPRESSED...would love to see him again in a headlining role...of course Tom ALWAYS puts on a great show

    Eric Clapton...my first time for him too and even out on the lawn during a tornado the show was great even though I think it may have ended a little eralier than planned

    Rush was excellent...this was my first time seeing them also...had a lot of firsts this year

    Rod Stewart/Bryan Adams...Rod the Mod has still got it!

    Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick...Steve Who? Journey didn't miss a beat and the whole linup ROCKED

    Boston/Styx...Bostons new singer wasn't bad either...just a little "stiff"..needed to loosen up a little but hey he was just a few months removed from The Home depot..

    Jimmy Buffett....Fins UP!!

    Kenny Chesney Poets and Pirates Stadium show...Great lineup and being the last night of the whole tour we were treated to about an hour extra of cover songs...

    John Mellencamp(3 times)...and saved the best for last...had an opportunity to attend a private concert in an old intimate theater with John that was being taped for a BIO special.....after all these past 28 years seeing him dozens of times this had to be a highlight of my concertgoing experiences...what more could a Hoosier lady want?

    The best concert I've seen this year was definately Mark Wills, the man is hilarious! It was awesome when he was on the "Honky Tonk Tailgate Party" tour w/ Mark, Buddy Jewell, Trent Willmon and Ray Scott, it was absolutely one of the best shows I've ever seen! Jess

    I'd have to say Blind Faith with Winwood and Clapton on 2.26 was the greatest show of the year.

    Saw a handful of acts this year, and have to put these on top:

    1) AC/DC: simply one of the best pure rock shows I've been to recently... nice visuals, great setlist and good stage presence.

    2) Kanye West: visually excellent, put on a fun show and the crowd was really into it.

    3) Foo Fighters: like AC/DC, pure, no-holds-barred rock, and Dave Grohl is one of the best performers/frontmen in recent history.

    Metallica coming up in a week or two, otherwise I'm sure they'd be on my best of 2008 list....
