The Closing Bell

05:03 PM Wednesday 1/21/09 |   |

The foreman just rang that ol' quittin' bell.  That  means there is just enough time to tell you about the new dates for Diamond Rio, Pete Doherty, The Von Bondies and Sam Roberts Band, and links to items about No Doubt’s summer tour, “fixing” the music industry, Sirius XM raising prices and the Taliban still hating music.

Link-O-Rama …

No Doubt doesn’t announce any dates, but does say Paramore will be the band’s special guest on this summer’s tour, and The Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash will support on select dates – NoDoubt.com

Is the music industry broken beyond repair? – PaidContent UK

Facing looming debt payments, Sirius XM plans to increase prices and charge for its online feed. Didn’t they say the Sirius / XM merger would result in lower prices? – Reuters

The Taliban demand an end to playing music on buses.  Some things never change – Daily Times, Pakistan
