Believe In Cherryholmes

12:01 AM Monday 2/9/09 |   |

Bluegrass family band Cherryholmes has a busy year planned that includes a visit to the Grammy Awards, where they’re nominated for a pair of trophies.

Cherryholmes has chosen to spend the bulk of February in warmer climes, with shows booked throughout the Caribbean.

The group kicks off an early spring run of shows March 6 at the DesertView Performing Arts Center in Tucson, Ariz., and will crisscross the country through late April.

Highlights include stops at Vilar Center for the Arts in Beaver Creek, Colo. (March 10), Alex and Faye Spanos Theatre at Cal State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. (March 19), Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Maine (March 28), Clemens Center in Elmira, N.Y. (April 1), Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Del. (April 7), Newberry Opera House in South Carolina (April 14) and The Little Nashville Opry in Nashville, Ind. (April 25).

This summer, the family will return to the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn., joining acts like Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Beastie Boys, Phish and Elvis Costello for the June 11-14 event.

Cherryholmes’ Grammy nominations – best bluegrass album and best country instrumental song – come courtesy of the band’s 2008 release, Cherryholmes III: Don’t Believe.
