Escape With Urban

11:27 AM Monday 2/9/09 |   |

Keith Urban fans get set: the country crooner’s prepping a massive summer outing that will cater to even the most cash-strapped fans with a $20, no added fees, ticket.

Urban’s Escape Together tour, in support of his upcoming release, Defying Gravity, kicks off with a two-night stand at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. May 7-8 and wraps nearly four months later at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va. (August 27).

Select stops include U.S. Bank Arena in Cleveland (June 5), Philips Arena in Atlanta (June 13), Dallas’ American Airlines Center (July 11), Staples Center in Los Angeles (July 19), The Wachovia Center in Philadelphia (Aug. 1), Kansas City’s Sprint Center (Aug. 8) and Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland (Aug. 21).

As for the $20 tickets, Urban said he understands that people out there are hurting for cash.

“If these ticket prices can help some of them to let loose, forget about their daily grind and enjoy a night of music, then that’s what we intend to give them and everyone else that comes out to our shows,” he said.

Urban will get quite a bit of help from his friends at those shows, including Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean, who’ll provide supports on select dates during the outing.

Defying Gravity is expected to hit stores March 31.
