Dave Matthews Band ’09

02:44 PM Wednesday 2/18/09 |   |

Oh, do not mourn that winter is at its peak. There are three signs that tell us summer will soon be upon us. Who knows what the first two are but the third is that Dave Matthews Band has announced its summer tour.

DMB is dropping a yet-to-be-titled record June 2 but is starting its massive outing April 14 at Madison Square Garden with Jimmy Fallon’s new house band, The Roots, on board. It’s a heck of a tour, with dates running through friggin’ October.

Apart from going to every place, Dave Matthews Band is counting on high-quality support acts. Considering the location, the band will be joined by Eli “Paperboy” Reed & The True Loves, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Avett Brothers, Jason Mraz, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, The Hold Steady, Hill Country Revue, Donavon Frankenreiter, Yonder Mountain String Band, G. Love & Special Sauce and Switchfoot.

Did we forget anyone? Just singer/songwriter legend Robert Earl Keen, who will open a couple of shows.

An online ticket request period begins tomorrow, Thursday, and continues through Monday at warehouse.davemathhewsband.com.
