Scheduled To Appear – 02/19

04:04 PM Thursday 2/19/09 |   |

Only two more nights to catch Conan doing his thing in New York City. And it’s been an interesting week so far, to say the least.

On Monday night, the host took an axe to the set of his show during his opening monologue and then gave a piece of it to an audience member.

While we thought the gag was just typical Conan, it turns out it might actually be a sign of hidden angst over the move.

“I’ve spent my fair share of time at 3 in the morning,” O’Brien told the New York Times, “lying awake like Martin Sheen in [“Apocalypse Now”], staring at the ceiling fan, thinking about my trip up river — and we all know how that turned out.”

Yikes! We thought he was getting a promotion.

Remaining shows this week feature guests Jerry Seinfeld and The White Stripes, making their first appearance together since canceling a chunk of live dates in 2007.
