Loaded formed in 1999, but McKagan’s involvement with Velvet Revolver put an end to the group in 2002. The band got back together in 2008 and just released its new album – Sick – April 7.
With the new album comes news of a tour. Playing a variety of venues including small clubs as well as music festivals, Loaded hits the road on April 9 with a gig in McKagan’s hometown of Seattle at the Crocodile Café.
Other stops include Nashville on April 18 at the Cannery; Norfolk, Va., on April 23 at The Norva; NYC on May 19 at The Gramercy and May 30 in Kansas City at the KQRC Rockfest.
The band also has several European festivals lined up for June, including Rock AM Ring in Nurburg, Germany, on June 6, and its counterpart, Rock Im Park in Nuremberg on June 7. Other Euro festivals include the Download Festival in Donington, England, on June 12 and Nova Rock in Nickelsdorf, Austria, on June 21.
While you’re contemplating your own Loaded plans, here’s a taste of the new album. The track is called “Flatline” and it’s the first video from Sick by Duff McKagan and Loaded. Make sure you turn this one all the way up. Way past 11 if you can.
