Aerosmith Announces Three-Month Tour With ZZ Top

09:21 AM Monday 4/13/09 |   |

The bad boys from Boston announced their first tour since 2007 today, a three-month extravaganza with that lil’ ol’ band from Texas, ZZ Top.

Although June 10 marks the launch in St. Louis, ZZ Top will not join the tour until June 16 in Mansfield, Mass. Other stops on the tour include June 21 just outside DC, at the Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Va.; Nikon @ Jones Beach in Wantaugh, N.Y. on June 26, and the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., June 28.

As the tour rolls through North America look for Aerosmith and ZZ Top playing Cincinnati on July 1; Tampa on July 11; Houston on July 17; Denver on August 1; Toronto on September 3 and Detroit on September 16. Other cities on the schedule include Ottawa, Seattle, Tulsa, Phoenix, Las Vegas, St. Paul and Cleveland.

Aerosmith’s tour announcement also mentions “support to be announced for August 28 in Chicago.”

The North American run is only the beginning for Aerosmith. The band is calling its outing “a world tour,” so get ready to rock, Planet Earth.

Currently working on a new album, Aerosmith released its own flavor of the “Guitar Hero” franchise with “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith” last year. That, along with their 2001 induction into the Rock & Roll are just two of the accolades the band has gathered during its 30-year plus existence. Other honors include four Grammys, eight American Music Awards and 12 MTV Awards.

The first round of public onsales goes up Friday, April 17. For more information, visit Live Nation’s Web site.

“I have always been a huge fan of ZZ Top,” Aerosmith guitar slinger Joe Perry said. “I toured with them with the Joe Perry Project, and those shows were unforgettable. With ZZ Top on this bill, it will definitely kick us into overdrive.”

If you haven't noticed... The Tour is still being planned! as for the Artist not going to a certain place. I still see 3 and 5 day gaps in the schedule for July... You never know what will show up!!!

The Artist isn't the one that makes the plans!!! Its always an Agency that talks to the Local Promoters!!! and to answer that for the promoters... If they can't sell the tickets, then they can't get a show... Its not just the Artist that receives money from a Tour... The Venue, Promoter, Trucks to carry the PA's, Lights, Stage, All the Gear, Buses, Food, Hotels.... and let me Say for the Record... Having Any Event at any Venue isn't Cheap... Some start at $150,000 and UP!!! So don't get mad at the Artist!!! Good Luck on where you see them... I hope they do schedule on the Gulf Coast for many of the Fans....

It's time for a revolution!  Ticketmaster and all the others can go suck a big fat penis.  All they do is sell their tickets to corporations and then they give them away at the end.  It's not like it used to be where you could camp out and get good seats at the box office.  It's a *** joke.  I would love to see Aerosmith again, but I'm not going to pay any more than $50 for any seat, whether it's on the floor, in the grass, or on the stage.

Did you see the top ticket price for the first shows rolling out? $200 plus service charges about $225 a ticket. And this will most likely be for at least the front floor sections and the closest lower arena sections, maybe all of each. Most, if not all of the pavilion seats at sheds will be this price.  Then of course a lot of the great seats are already taken for the fan club VIP tickets/packages that go for even bigger dollars.  The show  will be less than hours hours of music.. Aerosmith only goes about 1.5 hours these days and ZZ Top as the opener will only go about 1 hour or so. Don't the guys know what kind of tough financial times everyone is in these days. And you can keep the $50+ service charges = $65  nosebleed seats/lawn tickets.  Would be nice that if all fans regardless of economic status or saneness could afford the good seats. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity to be your fan and see you on tour.
