Snow Patrol’s Fall Blizzard Of Shows

09:01 AM Tuesday 6/23/09 |   |

You’d be hard pressed to find many bands working harder this year than Snow Patrol. The multi-platinum band just wrapped up three weeks on the road with Coldplay, and will appear on several U2 European gigs. As if that's not enough to keep the group busy, it now has its own tour to do.

There’s a good reason for Snow Patrol’s road warrior act this year. The band is touring in support of its latest album – A Hundred Million Suns – which has already given birth to two No. 1 Triple A radio hits – “Take Back The City” and “Crack The Shutters.”

Getting down to the date, city and venue biz, look for Snow Patrol to start its late summer / early fall tour in St. Paul, Minn., at the Myth on Sept. 10. From there it’s two nights with U2 at Chicago Soldier’s Field Sept. 12-13, followed by a headline gig at the Fillmore in Detroit Sept. 14.

It’s back to U2-land for two shows at Toronto’s Rogers Centre Sept. 16-17, a headline engagement at Montreal’s Metropolis Sept. 18 and then two more U2 shows – Foxborough, Mass., at Gillette Stadium Sept. 20-21.

Then it’s nothing but Snow Patrol headliners all the way through Oct. 20 in Los Angeles at the Wiltern. Stops along the way include NYC at the Beacon Sept. 22; DC at Constitution Hall Sept. 25; Kansas City at the Uptown Theatre Sept. 29; Austin at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q Oct. 6; Denver at the Fillmore Oct. 9; Boise at the Knitting Factory Oct. 11; and Oakland at the Fox Theatre Oct. 16.

Most of Snow Patrol’s headline dates go on sale this Saturday June 27, although Indianapolis and Boise go up June 26, Oakland goes on sale June 28 and Kansas City July 11.  For more information, please click here for the band’s Web site.
