Letterman, O’Brien, Fallon, Kimmel, Ferguson and Daly are so 2000-and-late. These days if you wanna plug your latest single, the happenin’ place is the little town of Llanview, Penn.

For the uninitiated, Llanview is the fictional home of the Buchanans, Lords, Cramers, Mannings and the rest of the citizens that populate ABC’s popular daytime soap “One Life to Live.”

While OLTL has always had a soft spot for music, allowing several of its cast members to sing on the air when it could be worked into a storyline, several years ago the show’s writers introduced a club, Capricorn, that would allow musicians to drop in and perform.

The concept has proved so successful, Llanview now sports a roadhouse, Rodi's, and a second, hipper club called Ultra Violet.

Past episodes of OLTL have featured appearances by Rachael Yamagata, Nelly Furtado, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dog, Puddle of Mudd, Plain White T’s and The Pussycat Dolls.

Upcoming guests include Lionel Richie and salsa sensation Frankie Negron, who will serenade the characters of Todd Manning and Tea Delgado with "Holding on to Love," a track from his first English language album, in both English and Spanish on August 5.

Who would've known a soap opera would be the hot spot for promoting/appearances? I don't see how an artist like Snoop Dogg would appeal to the usual soap opera audience, but it goes to show you shouldn't really profile.
