Usually you have to be in the music business for a while before you get your own television profile, but BET is letting some rising stars cut in line.

“Grey Goose Entertainment and BET Present: Rising Icons” debuts at 10:30 p.m. ET July 27 on BET.

The late-night, half-hour shows will profile eight up-and-coming artists including Chrisette Michele, Hal Linton, Keri Hilson, Kid Cudi, Melanie Fiona, Ryan Leslie, The Dream and Wale.

Each show will chronicle the artist’s personal lives both on the road and on stage.
