The band is the latest to join a very compelling lineup that already features Pepper, Kottonmouth Kings, LMFAO, Schwayze, Shiny Toy Guns and Unwritten Law.
Korn joins Chris Cornell on Saturday, Sept. 12 when, for the very first time in the festival’s history, the Sunset Strip will be closed between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard in order to present to concert stages attracting up to 10,000 music fans.
“Although we’re all from Bakersfield, the Sunset Strip is really where it all came together for Korn. It’s where we had our first breakthrough gigs,” said frontman Jonathan Davis. “We are really excited to be the first to headline a festival right on the Sunset Strip and we intend on making it something fans remember for a long time!”
The Sunset Strip Music Festival isn’t like other multi-day music events. Instead, you could say it’s more like a most-excellent club-crawl featuring legendary nightclubs like The Roxy Theatre, Viper Room, Cat Club, House of Blues, Key Club and Whisky A Go-Go, hosting great bands and artists.
What’s more, the all-star band known as Camp Freddy, consisting of Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum, Chris Chaney, Dave Navarro and Donovan Leitch Jr., will perform in honor of Ozzy Osbourne on Sept. 10 at the House of Blues.
