Life's A Cabaret For Lauper & Co.

08:01 AM Tuesday 8/18/09 |   |

Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Tour has found a permanent home of sorts at singer Michael Feinstein’s Manhattan nightclub.

True Colors Cabaret, a monthly series in support of LBGT equality, will make its debut next month at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency featuring artists from the worlds of Broadway and popular music.

The first show, which takes place Sept. 28 at 8 p.m., will be hosted by Lauper and will include performances by singer/actress Stephanie J. Block (“9 to 5,” “Wicked,” “The Boy from Oz”) and “American Idol” finalist Melinda Doolittle.

The second show in the series is scheduled for October 26 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with Lauper hosting singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles and singer/actor Gavin Creel (“Hair,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie”).

The shows have a $40 cover with a limited number of $60 premium seats available, both with a $25 food and beverage minimum.

A VIP package, which includes a front row table for 4 and a meet & greet with at least one of the performers or host, is also available for $500.

And since this is a classy establishment, jackets are suggested but not required.

Lauper said she’s proud that her True Colors Tour and True Colors Fund have been able to team up with Broadway Impact, a grassroots organization of the theatre community supporting marriage equality, adding, “Please come join us for what promises to be a series of great shows in support of an important cause.”
