Scheduled To Appear – 08/20

04:04 PM Thursday 8/20/09 | |

Music mogul Clive Davis is a smart guy. First he makes Whitney Houston spend four years working with an A-list crew of writers and producers on her comeback album, I Look to You. Then he holds star-studded listening parties in London, New York City and Los Angeles, generating incredible positive buzz. And now the killing blow – Oprah.

Houston will be the queen of talk’s first guest as she launches season 24 of her juggernaut of a show on Sept. 14.

Winfrey’s Web site calls the singer’s appearance “the most anticipated music interview of the decade.”

Houston’s stop by Oprah’s couch is the first time the troubled singer has done a major TV interview since 2002, when she chatted with ABC’s Diane Sawyer about her ongoing struggle with substance abuse.
