After touring parts of South America and Europe earlier this year, roots reggae band Groundation has returned to the states to play a fall round of U.S. dates.
The tour kicks off Aug. 29 with a slot at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco and then concludes back in the Golden State with an Oct. 10 show at Downtown Brewing Company in San Luis Obispo.
Additional stops include One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans (Sept. 4), Pulp Live in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (Sept. 9), New Earth Music Hall in Athens, Ga. (Sept. 12), Kinetic Playground in Chicago (Sept. 26), BB King’s Blues Club & Grill in New York (Sept. 18) and Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver (Oct. 3).
Groundation, which mixes reggae with jazz and dub influences, spent 2009 playing shows in California and Hawaii followed by international performances in Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France and Portugal.
Earlier this month the band released its sixth full-length studio album, and eighth album over all, Here I Am.
Here I Am features performances by Reggae legends The Congos and Pablo Moses.
