Since all anyone seems to want to talk about today is The Beatles (ask me how many times I’ve had a conversation today that began with someone saying, “The Beatles are overrated.”), I thought I’d skip ahead to next week.

The 24th season of Oprah Winfrey’s talk show behemoth premiers Sept. 14 with a doozy of a guest list. Part of Chicago’s Michigan Avenue was shut down beginning Monday so the host with the most could tape a celebration of the show yesterday that featured performances by Black Eyed Peas, Rascal Flatts, Jennifer Hudson, James Taylor and magician Criss Angel.

Kicking off the next week’s lineup is a two-part interview with Whitney Houston airing Monday and Tuesday that Winfrey has been calling the best she’s ever done and that will reportedly cover all the dirt with “no topic off limits.”

Wednesday’s show will feature a tribute to Michael Jackson that includes “untold stories” from Winfrey’s 1993 interview with the King of Pop and Thursday sees the return of Oprah’s progeny Dr. Phil.

On Friday, Winfrey’s show will air live from New York City with special guest Mariah Carey unveiling tracks from her upcoming album and fellow talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa dropping by to chat.
