Stone Temple Pilots Add Canadian Dates

The Stone Temple Pilots have just added a round of Canadian dates to its upcoming tour and if frontman Scott Weiland’s Saturday performance is any indication, the alternative band is going to make sure fans see the shows, come hell, high water – or even a seizure on an airplane.

On Friday Weiland suffered a mild seizure on a commercial flight from Los Angeles to Miami. The singer was scheduled to promote the launch of his clothing line Weiland for English Laundry and perform along with his Scott Weiland Band at Miami’s club Mansion. Rolling Stone reported that after oxygen was administered to Weiland, the plane made an emergency landing at Dallas Fort Worth Airport and the singer was taken to the hospital. A representative for Weiland said he has a history of seizures.

TMZ.com reports that just 24 hours after the seizure Weiland made it to his Saturday gig at Mansion and charmed the crowd with STP and Velvet Revolver favorites.

Weiland and the rest of the STP gang kick off their North American fall tour Oct. 2 with a performance at “Mobile Bayfest” at Downtown Mobil in Alabama.

The Canadian leg of the tour begins Nov. 7 at Save on Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, and concludes Nov. 21 at K-Rock Centre in Kingston, Ontario (Nov. 21).

Additional dates include Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta (Nov. 11), Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan (Nov. 14), MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Nov. 15), and The John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario (Nov.19).

STP has also added a few more U.S. dates – Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa. (Oct. 10), Fillmore Auditorium in Denver (Oct. 13) and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Miss. (Dec. 29).

There are currently dates on the books through a Jan. 1 show at the Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla.

    Gonna see 'em a day after Metallica on 0ct.4 in Orlando,FL.I hope Weiland is'nt strung out too bad..You'd think after all the tragic well covered stories and history of drug abuse it would be a thing of the past,especially the hardest drugs but humans keep on gettin' stupid..
