It wasn’t on a par with Janet Jackson’s infamous nipple slip during the halftime show at 2004’s Superbowl, but Whitney Houston had a wardrobe malfunction of her own over the weekend.

Houston was appearing on Simon Cowell’s British singing competition “X Factor” to mentor the contestants and deliver her first performance in the U.K. in more than 12 years.

In the middle of a performance of her latest single, “Million Dollar Bill,” a strap on the back of her gown gave up the ghost, leaving the singer with the two halves of part of the back of the dress hanging at her sides.

Houston, who some in the Brit press accused of behaving “erratically,” kept on singing, and even joked about the incident after she finished, saying “I sang myself out of my clothes.”

So what did notorious curmudgeon Cowell think of Whitney’s performance? He called it “incredible.”
