The album is called If On A Winter’s Night… and features Sting performing traditional music from the British Isles. It’s a seasonal album and includes Sting making his mark on songs like the ballad “The Snow It Melts The Soonest,” Scottish song “Christmas At Sea” and the 14th century carol “Soul Cake” as well as other songs from centuries past.

Sting will perform material from the new album during two concerts scheduled for Dec. 8 and 9 at the Cathedral Church of St. John The Divine in New York City where he will be joined by 35 musicians, including string and brass sections. The ensemble will be conducted by Robert Sadin, and trumpeter Chris Botti will make guest appearances on both nights.

There will be a Sting.com Fan Club exclusive ticket pre-sale Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. Eastern time. Legacy members will get first crack at tickets during the first two hours of the pre-sale before it’s opened to all fan club members at high noon.
