Jackson and her touring musicians – keyboard/synth maestro Langmaid shuns the spotlight, declining to tour and even refusing to be photographed – descended on the States last month for a week-long whirlwind trek in support of La Roux’s eponymous debut release that quickly sold out and had fans clamoring for more.

And for a handful of lucky cities, the prospects for the coming cold winter nights just got a little bit warmer with the announcement of a limited run of North American shows that kicks off in Boston Jan. 31 and wraps at NYC’s Webster Hall Feb. 11.

Since emerging from London’s underground warehouse scene two years ago, La Roux has steadily climbed into the public and critical eye thanks to catchy tracks like lead U.K. single “In for the Kill” and the follow up, “Bulletproof,” which captured several chart positions on our shores.

The group has also been racking up accolades, landing a coveted artist spotlight position on cable network FUSE’s “Incoming!,” earning a spot in MTV’s “Discover and Download” showcase and scoring nominations for Britain’s Mercury Prize, an MTV Europe Award and an MTVu Woodie award.

The music press has been smitten with the duo too, with Rolling Stone declaring Jackson “the perfect London pop star of the moment,” NME calling their music “as accessible as they are irresistible” and a “whipsmart modern take on the heartsore side of the ’80s” and the Los Angeles Times proclaiming that La Roux is “something new and effortlessly winning.”
