You Pick The Grammys

05:01 PM Thursday 12/3/09 |   |

Wednesday night was the warm-up to the event music fans love to hate as the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards to be held Jan. 31, or “Grammy Sunday” as the Academy calls it, at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

Truth is, awards shows can’t please everyone. For every artist nominated for a Grammy there’s always someone fans feel is overlooked, while others feel the noms are dead on. For every person complaining about the number of nominations Taylor Swift received, there are fans who think the teen country star deserved more. Opinions about award shows are like a certain body orifice – everybody has one.

So we’re asking you, as a member of the all-knowledgeable Pollstar.com user base, to pick who should win a Grammy. Every week between now until the awards we’ll give you a chance to vote on whom you think should win in specific categories. We’ll post the results on the Friday before “Grammy Sunday.”

Today we’re starting with the three top categories – Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Before we get started we must mention that there simply isn’t enough room to list all the people nominated for a particular song or album. Because of this, regardless of how many people are included in one nomination, in most cases we are limited to listing only the album or song and the artist or band that recorded the song. For more information about the nominees, please follow the link at the bottom of this page to the Grammy Web site.

Ready? Let’s get busy!

Record of the Year (awarded to the artist, producer, recording engineers and / or mixers if other than artist)

Album of the Year (awarded to the artist, producer, recording engineers and / or mixers if other than artist)

Song of the year (awarded to songwriters)

Since Kings of Leon are the only rock act here they will win since the others will cancel each other out! No Brainer     But Kings of Leon Rule and should have won years ago for there first Ep (Song Molly Chambers was awesome then) I remember we were the only ones jumping up and down at Los Angeles KRoq show back then! To bad someone talked them into cutting their cool hair, Cant wait to Jump up and down win they win the Grammy for old times sake.  Molly chambers wont change my mind!       Tequila Slam Dance
