Attention citizens of the planet earth: The supreme commanders of the de-evolution movement request your attention for a special message to be delivered to the world live from the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver on the evening of Feb. 22, 2010.

“Ha, ha, ha, ha! Peekaboo!” That’s right kids, New Wave funsters and ’80s icons DEVO are back and ready to party. The newly resurrected group, which is preparing to release its first album of new material in 20 years, has been invited to perform at the conclusion of an Olympic Victory Ceremony that will be broadcast on NBC networks across the globe.

The band joins an all-star lineup of performers for the Whistler Victory Ceremonies, which run from Feb. 13 –27. Also on the roster are Feist, Usher, Our Lady Peace and The Fray.
For a complete details about which band will perform on which night, visit Vancouver2010.com.

Besides original members Gerald Casale, Bob Casale, Mark Mothersbaugh and Bob Mothersbaugh, the reactivated DEVO includes drummer Josh Freese (NIN, Weezer, Guns N’ Roses).

The band's plans for accelerating the rate of planetary de-evolution in 2010 include the aforementioned album, international festival appearances and a world tour that will cover North America, Europe, Japan, Australia and South America.

Fans can stay abreast of developments at ClubDevo.com.
